THE NATURAL EXPERIENCE IN BUTJADINGEN
The Langwarder Groden between Fedderwardersiel and Langwarden is the best place for bird watching in Butjadingen. A 4 Kilometer long circular hiking trail and a 2 Kilometer long nature discovery trail offer a special experience. The unique nature is particularly well visible from several observation points, footbridges and a bridge leading to the dyke. On numerous info tables you will learn more about nature and landscape. Interactive models invite you to discover this interesting living space.
With the “Nature Experience Langwarder Groden”, an attractive opportunity was created for the natural experience in Germany and the North Sea. Through a circular hiking trail that leads directly into the area, you can see the emergence of a new salt marsh, the constant changing of the surrounding flora and fauna and the change from high-tide to low-tide.
A path leads directly into the 70-hectare salt-bed development area, thus providing fascinating insights into the animal and plant life of the mud flat. A 35 m long wooden bridge leads over the extended “Sieltief”. In case of higher tides, you can experience the force of Mother Nature and the dynamics of the tides up close and personal.
The Nationalpark-Haus Museum Fedderwardersiel regularly offers guided tours through the Langwarder Groden. You can find the exact times of the day in the current event program or on flyers on site.
